Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) in Sindh’s Khairpur has declared the academic records of 1,184 LLB candidates fake, invalidating their enrolments and related credentials.

As per the details, the university has shared copies of the relevant notifications with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Bar Council and the provincial bar councils concerned. It has also published details of the decisions on its website, saying the move aims to ensure transparency and keep the public informed.

According to SALU, an inquiry committee reviewed examination records, attendance sheets, fee records, bank statements and other documents before reaching its conclusions.

The committee found the records of 1,184 candidates to be fake, while verifying those of 64 candidates as authentic and lawful. It also recommended strict action against the illegal enrolments.

The university said that the notifications followed decisions approved by its Syndicate, the body responsible for key institutional decisions and recommendations from an inquiry committee comprising senior professors and officials. Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Yousuf Khushk chaired the committee.

SALU said that the action targeted illegal enrolments while protecting candidates whose academic records were found to be genuine.
